More Information On The Role

MLOs are expected to have a pre-existing network of external relationships for generating new business, ideally consisting of realtors, home builders, financial advisors, and other professional and personal contacts. MLOs build rapport with their prospective clients, consultatively analyzes their financial situation, and determines the appropriate product or products to meet their needs in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. MLOs are responsible for managing the loan origination process in compliance with current lending policies and regulations. MLOs set the right expectation up front with the client on the documentation that will be required to submit a thorough, accurate, and complete loan package to underwriting. MLOs recognize and resolve challenges early in the process and provides excellent customer service. MLOs possess a strong sense of urgency with an ability to work in a team environment, while maintaining excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills.

Essential Job Functions

Proactively identify, develop, and nurture a quality network of business relationships that serves as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. Interview new and existing customers to determine their needs and advise those customers of appropriate loan products, terms, and pricing, while gathering any additional required information. Generate and/or facilitate complete mortgage applications, ensuring appropriate procedures and policies are followed, while meeting sales goals and objectives. Address, mitigate, and resolve any client related issues or roadblocks that may arise during loan processing, underwriting, and closing. Maintain all necessary mortgage licensing on an annual basis

Requirements

3+ years of experience in residential mortgage sales. Ability to meet and comply with all requirements set forth in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited to successful completion of the required background checks and obtaining a Unique Identifier from the NMLS. Documented residential mortgage loan volume in the past 12 months Established relationships with local referral networks. Knowledgeable in Conventional, Jumbo, Non-conforming, FHA, and VA loans Experience with Non-Qualified Mortgages is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a variety of audiences Experience with Calyx Point (Loan Origination System) preferred. Ability to actively participate in business related development opportunities and other community efforts to promote homeownership and professional organizations. Ability to work outside of normal business hours when necessary. Position will allow for remote work but may require in person attendance on a designated schedule.
